Tulip Festival

Tulips, tulips everywhere... Sunday was an absolutely beautiful day, so we decided to drive to Mount Vernon and see the pretty flowers. It's a 67 mile trip, according to Google, and it took us 5 hours to get there. Yes, the worse day possible and the best all wrapped into one. We took the ferry so that added to the time but, the traffic was insane. Everyone and their mother were out to see the tulips. We visited two gardens - Tulip Town and Roozen Gaarde, which was my favorite. Next time we go, we are planning for bikes, or parachutes, or rickshaw, or something other than driving in to avoid the traffic - live and learn; live and learn. I guess I could learn a lot from my kids - they did great.

Spring Break

Lucas had spring break last week, so we all had spring break. Randy took the week off too, and we had a nice relaxing staycation. We got a lot of things done around the house, went to the park, the zoo, walked some trails, went to doctor's appointments, lounged around the house, watched a lot of movies, and Randy and I even got a night out. It was a great week.

...Now we have to start getting ready for summer!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Last night was our MOMS Club's annual Daddy Daughter Dance. Over the last 4 years I've watched all the daddy's and daughters having a great time, but last night I got to watch my own having fun. It was a special night. Frances was a little reluctant to wear a dress, but once I distracted her with taking pictures, she got over it. Lucas got to spend the evening at a friends house - making pizza, watching a movie and eating popcorn. All and all a great evening...

Frances turns 2! among other things...

The past few weeks have flown by!! I know I say this all the time but, it's true! Frances turned 2 last Monday. My parents and sister came to celebrate the occasion and stayed for the week. It poured rain the entire time so we didn't do much - but it was sure great to have them here.
I'm catching up with some of the pictures below because I feel like its been ages since I've posted anything. And the both of them have changed so much in the last month. Lucas is doing super good at school. They are testing him ahead in both math and spelling, so he has extra homework, but he gets it done in no time. And, Frances is singing and talking and doing puzzles. She's so good with matching shapes. It's just amazing. My little stars.

She really enjoys her cards.

I think she's pointing out a butterfly.

Snow!

Saturday evening brought the white gold. So Sunday was all about the snow. We got up early and played all morning. Our court was nice and quiet, so we walked up the hill where we found the rest of the neighborhood sledding down the street.

All three heading down!
...Alas, the rain is back today and the snow is all gone :(

Superbowl 48

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day - I think most of Washington state (if not all) would agree. I know we broke the sound barrier here - I heard the BOOMS coming from across the water in Seattle. Its pretty amazing the craziness surrounding this one event. Everyone was celebrating and this household had a pretty amazing Superbowl Par-tay!

The crew right before the game - or maybe it was right after that 12 second score!
