Our first big hike!

Lucas and I went for a hike yesterday with our friends Malinda and Lilly. We had a great adventure. Hiked about 4 miles through old growth doug fir and cedar to a pretty little stream. Lucas did great! And he slept great last night too. Only woke up one time! That's a new record in this household. Mommy is very proud of our nature boy. By the way, he loves the dirt!

Gettin' ready for Vacation!

We're trying to get Lucas used to wearing sunglasses so while we're in Hawaii, he will actually wear them. We've had them for a while now and he's finally letting us put them on him without major protest. Gotta protect the eyes, after all, he's never seen the great Hawaiian sun!

The word of the day..."Dada!"

What to do about the water dish?

Lucas has taken a real liking to the pet water dish. This was taken last Saturday and everyday he has gotten faster and faster. This morning he belined right for the bowl and made it before I could get to him - water everywhere. What to do? Where to put it? I don't know... I fear the litter box is next.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! Lucas hasn't said "dada", but we did have a great day, finally got out to explore the trails around our house. What a great time, and so much out there. Lucas is going to have fun growing up around this house!

Friday the 13th!

Lucas is 7 months old today! He has two teeth, just about ready to crawl (like a normal kid), can almost pull himself into a seated position, will not sit still for anything. He says "mama" and I'm pretty sure he knows what he's saying, Randy keeps urging him to say "dada", maybe on Sunday! Happy Father's Day!

Bunny love

We have wild bunnies in our yard! They are always out eating the grass. We have at least three, that we can tell. Two are always together and yesterday I saw a little baby bunny. They are cute as can be. Shadow loves to chase them (and eat their poop:)

Pearly whites

We have teeth! The first appeared on May 25, the second on June 4.

You gotta look close - but trust me - they're there!

On the move...

Lucas is on the move. He's not yet crawling in the traditional way, more like a caterpillar and very good at "down dog"!

Rebuilding the deck

Randy is rebuilding the deck around the hot tub, which we purchased way back in January. It was the one thing we had to have (besides the house), given that it is June and Randy is still wearing a sweatshirt!
