Camp Seymour

Lucas has climbed this wall a handful of times. I'm amazed at the difference a year makes.

Click here to see Lucas on the wall two years ago (scroll to the bottom to watch a video)
He had a little help from the belay guy, but he climbed almost to the top!

Francy wasn't allowed on the boat so Lucas jumped in with the girls.

Again, completely impressed with Lucas shooting the bow.
He hit the target twice!

Lakewood Outdoor Education Center

We spent yesterday afternoon out on the trails of Lakewood enjoying the sun and fresh air. Lakewood is an outdoor education center on Bainbridge Island and yesterday they were having an open house. We visited tree houses, ponds, marshes, bird watching areas, a giant suspension bridge, and a forest canopy tower.
Lucas admiring the view - or contemplating tossing a stick overboard.

Frances admiring the view - or contemplating what she can grab and put in her mouth.

A crossroads, with a cool little seat.

One of the tree houses

The canopy tower - 10 stories high - 200 stairs

Yes, we made it to the top

It was pretty amazing to feel like you were climbing to the top of a tree

The view from the top

It was bright up there!

Easter 2013

An absolutely beautiful weekend, Easter 2013 did not disappoint. The sun shines when you need it around here, because, unfortunately, we're back to gloomy rain. On Saturday we went to the park where they were having an Easter egg hunt along with prize booths, a petting zoo, and the Big Bunny himself. It was such a nice day - we soaked up some much need sunshine. The kids got to play, find eggs, eat hot dogs and snow cones, and meet the Easter Bunny. On Easter Sunday... Lucas was led on an egg hunt filled with clues to find his basket - which he throughly enjoyed - and Frances enjoyed playing with all the plastic eggs and Easter grass. Then, we baked a big ham and had the usual friends over for our Annual Egg Hunt and Easter Party. It was a great weekend.
