Fathoms O Fun Festival and Taste of Tacoma

We found this horse at an auction last weekend. The auction was a lot of fun and we will definitely be going back. But, must, be, very careful...

This weekend was Port Orchard's annual Fathoms 'O Fun Festival and Parade. There were lots of "bounce houses" and kid crafts, food and music, and of course the parade!

Lucas loved this big slide....

Whheeeee!

He got his face painted. He choose a Ladybug. Out of dragons and spiders and snakes, he choose a ladybug, such and sweet little boy:)

He was very happy about all the candy that came his direction.
Waving to the folks "floating" by.
Lucas really loved all the music and dancing.

Such a ham.

Sunday we went to the Taste of Tacoma with Lilly and her parents. We ate lots of food, perused the vendors, and played some carnival games.

Lucas and Lilly each showed how strong they are and won a big blow up hammer, where they then proceeded to hammered away at each other. Such fun.

Picking a duck for a prize. Lucas just wanted to play with the ducks floating along in the pool.
It was a great afternoon as usual with the Millers. They took us last year as well, I'm looking forward to next year - the kids will be taller and they can both ride more rides:)

BBQ at the beach

This was a couple of weekends ago (the weekend before Father's Day), however, our hard drive crashed and I haven't been downloading pictures. But, these were too good and needed to be posted. This particular weekend was so beautiful. It was sunny, warm and perfect. We went out to Kopachuck with the Miller's, checked out the low tide, bar-b-cued some burgers, and drank some beers. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon.

Farm Kitchen and Medieval Faire

You never know what's going to happen with the weather around here, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful, warm sunny day. Thank God. So, we headed north to the Farm Kitchen, which is an event venue farm in Poulsbo. On the first Saturday of each month they do a great big family style breakfast. We had to check it out. Afterward, we drove a bit farther north to the little town of Port Gamble where the SCA was hosting a Medieval Faire. Always great family fun.

A view of the Farm Kitchen where we had a huge tummy filling breakfast.

The line outside waiting to get in - but it's not so bad - they feed you coffee cake while you wait!

Watching the knights fighting. Lucas was very intrigued.

The show.

Cruising the Faire.

Shooting dragons.

A boy and his feather.

Nothing better than ice cream to end the day.

Fun in the Sun

The sun came out today, and the rain is scheduled to return tomorrow, so we took advantage. Malinda took us to one of the farmers markets in Tacoma. One that we will be returning too, so much good food. Then we headed to Point Defiance so the kids could run around and we could go for a walk. Beautiful morning.

Lucas and Lilly getting a music lesson (and a free kazoo) from the Tacoma Philharmonic.

Trying the rings for the first time.

Riding the "ship across the sea".

Down at the promenade.
I guess we're ready for the rainy weekend to begin:)

Week in Review - Last Week

Its been a busy couple of weeks. Lots of stuff going on - meetings, playgroups, events, outings - nap time...

Lucas needs his naps in the afternoons. He might not think so and when he refuses to go down for his nap - this is what typically happens at some point in the day.

Lucas and Lilly walking up the hill from Kopachuck Beach.

Again, usually around 2 or so this takes place, then I have to carry him to bed.

The Kitsap Steamers in the park. The coolest mini train ride through the forest.

South Kitsap County Fire and Rescue fitted all the kids with free bike helmets!

Malinda and Greg invited us over for a BBQ on the porch. It was a beautiful afternoon. The kids played in the bounce house and we enjoyed some libations and a sunny afternoon with good friends! Here's to the start of summer!
