Puyallup Fair

The Puyallup Fair is a tradition in these here western parts. After yesterday, I now understand why.

We walked through the entrance, Lucas spotted the carousal, and started calling "horsey, horsey!" So we bought tickets and the day of rides, food and fun began.

Petting zoo.

While Lucas and Daddy were looking at all the baby animals....

Jana and I were finding the curly fries! For me - the best part of fair food.

You wouldn't know it, but Lucas was loving the kayak boat ride.

And Mommy and Aunt Jana were lovin' the roller coaster!

Lucas was a bit tuckered out with all the excitement.

We ran in to Shambo! Love Survivor!
Had to get corn dogs. mmm, good.

Pony rides!

Every kid LOVES cotton candy...

this one was no exception.
We finished off the day with an ice cream cone.
It was a great day at the fair. We were all very tired at the end of it all. Looking forward to next year!

Zoo

Our regular Thursday morning play group was cancelled last minute, so Lucas and I decided to see what the animals were up to over at the zoo.

The kid zone...hangin' with the Lemurs

Lucas watching the sharks and jack fish swimming.

Learning to be a spider

and a snail...or a hermit crab.

The most disgusting exhibit...Madagascar cockroaches, but the kids sure love it.

Lucas watching the meerkats.

Inside the manor.

A lynx showed up to scare the Lemurs into action.

Then he went for a walk.

Parking lot peacock.
It was a great morning at the zoo.

Fish Fry

The Washington Burbank's traveled this weekend to visit the Illinois Burbank's. The occasion was Uncle Ron's annual Fish Fry. It was a party weekend. And we had a great time.
Lucas got to meet his great grandfather for the first time, Grandpa Buck.

Randy taking Lucas on a ride to gather fire wood, the fire pit burned all weekend.

Uncle Kenny and Aunt Debbie.

Big Joe was the cook for the weekend. Let me tell you - no one went hungry. The fish was delicious!

Our sleeping quarters for the weekend.

Grandpa, Grandson, and Great-Grandson

The Burbank Boys

Add in some girls.

Uncle Harry, Buck's little brother -his girlfriend, Leela, and Clem's (Buck and Harry's sister) son Rod, and his wife Jeanine. Clem and her husband Al couldn't make it due to Clem's health.

Brothers

Saying goodbye.
Future biker? I hope not.

Saying farewell to Uncle Ron.

We had a few hours to kill before boarding our plane, so we went to visit the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, aka the St. Louis Arch.

It was a very cool museum.

Much to Randy's distress, we ventured to the top of the Arch.

It was so surreal to be able to look straight down from so high up, 630 ft.

We ended our trip on Lucas' street. How perfect. And as usual, he was a great traveler. It amazes me how well he does. And, by the time he is two, he will be a world traveler...
The weekend was quick, but the memories will last a lifetime.
